UPDATE: 20 new images added for the Wild West scene as well as numerous optimizations and improvements!
Step back in time and immerse yourself in a unique blend of history and technology with a groundbreaking VR app that brings Victorian stereoscopic images to life on the modern Meta Quest 2 and Quest 3 headsets. The images were taken over 100 years ago using similar techniques to those used today resulting in full 3D VR images when viewed in the headset. Meticulously hand-restored and aligned for optimal viewing comfort, these captivating images will take you on a mesmerizing journey through four distinct scenes: a Wild West frontier, a bustling cityscape, an industrial dockside, and the intimate setting of a Victorian home.

Each scene is carefully curated to transport you to a different environment, allowing you to explore the intricate details of these historical images in a way that was never before possible. As you navigate through the galleries, the immersive audio and surrounding scene enhances the experience, drawing you deeper into the rich tapestry of the past. Original text from the Stereocards accompanies the images providing historical context and enriching your understanding of the time period, while adding layers of depth to your exploration.
This application was produced by a solo developer, and over a year of research went into the process of creating tooling to align the images for optimal comfort. Due to the amount of time and care spent restoring and aligning them, the app currently features 43 curated images with more on the way in upcoming free updates.
